Emily Cox is a graduate from the Institute of Clinical Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Honolulu, Hawai’i, with a masters degree of Oriental Medicine. Emily also studied under Taoist Master and 64th generation lineage holder Dr. Lillian Chang Y. Hsiang, who utilized healing modalities such as Qigong, and the use of local Hawaiian herbs with Chinese medicine. Taoist teachings strongly advocate the practice of humility and self-preservation, and Emily strives to brings these aspects into each treatment, educating patients on practical ways they can continue to unlock their own healing potential.
Emily's experiences range from treating chronic pain, auto-immune disorders, paralysis, fertility, facial and cosmetic acupuncture, as well as incorporating Chinese astrology into her treatments. She currently practices and teaches Hatha yoga, and is a student of Mark Whitwell, who teaches a breath-focused flow, called the “Heart of Yoga,” which is aimed to be accessible for every single body. Her favorite quote from Mark is: “The secrets of the universe are in you, as you.”
Emily graduated with a B.A. in Fine Arts and English from St. Lawrence University, and continues to pursue her passions such as singing, playing guitar, writing poetry, and painting.
